The brand originated in 1898 with the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. The company rapidly gained recognition, notably through the launch of the first detachable tire in 1904, and by Goodyear equipping the first mass-produced car, the Ford Model T, with tires. Further innovations followed, such as the first off-road tire in 1921 and, in 1934, the first tire that could still be driven after a puncture. Today, Goodyear produces high-quality tires with outstanding driving performance. In 2013, the EfficientGrip Performance tire profile achieved the top rating for wet grip for the eleventh time.
